About the event

Walk Bristol’s ancient boundary this January through story, landscape and ritual - and discover the city like never before.

For over 600 years, people have walked the boundary of Bristol to remember, protect, and celebrate their city. This January, you’re invited to do the same.

The Bristol Bounds is a series of five walks around the edge of the city – a modern pilgrimage blending history, folklore, storytelling and gentle ritual to help you reconnect with your home, your body, and the land beneath your feet.

We’re invoking an ancient tradition known as Beating the Bounds, where communities came together to walk their parish borders and reaffirm their right to their lands. There was often singing, dancing and much merry-making. Today, when many of us feel disconnected from place, nature and community; we think it’s time we brought it back. Expect laughter. Expect mud. Expect to feel the city differently.
